· Earned three letters as a catcher/third baseman in baseball for head coach Eddie Youngblood at Hightower High School in Missouri City, Texas.
· Played catcher/third baseman for head coach Phil Cross' Houston Heat in the summer of 2006.
· Hit .323 with eight doubles, one triple, one home run, 24 RBI and 10 stolen bases in 50 games for the Heat.
· Helped summer club to a 42-8 record and runner-up finishes at both the Premier Baseball World Series in Alabama and the All-American Classic in Tennessee.
