2011 highlights
• Made his first appearance on the season against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (4/5) after beating cancer. He came in as a pinch-hitter than remained in the game playing third base.
• Registered his first career hit and scored his first run against Baylor (4/9).
• Logged his first career RBI in the series finale against Baylor (4/10).
HIGH SCHOOL
• A four-year letterwinner as a shortstop under Coach Rocky Manuel at Bellaire High School in Houston, Texas.
• Tabbed a Preseason Lousiville Slugger All-American, Rawlings Preseason All-American, Preseason All-Greater Houston and named THSBCA All-State as a senior.
• Served as team captain as a senior.
• Garnered first-team all-district honors as a sophomore, junior and senior.
• Named first-team All-Greater Houston, THSBCA All-State, AHSCA All-Star, and tabbed to the Texas Rangers Area Code team as a junior.
• Named to the TASO All-Tournament Team as a sophomore.

Born Alex Silver on January 20, 1992 in Houston, Texas ... son of Steven and Ronna Silver, both UT graduates ... has two older sister, Leslie (a UT graduate) and Stacey (master's degree from the UT School of Public Health)... interested in majoring in finance.
