Allowed two runs on seven hits in 7.0 innings while striking out eight in the season-opening game versus New Mexico (2/19).
Earned a win over No. 18 Stanford (2/26), yielding no runs on four hits and four walks while striking out 10 over 7.0 innings.
Allowed one run on four hits and two walks while striking out eight over 7.2 innings against No. 9 Rice at the Houston College Classic (3/5) and was named to the All-Tournament Team despite getting no decision in the victory.

· Tabbed Class 5A Player of the Year by TSWA, Central Texas Player of the Year, Gatorade Texas Player of the Year and Louisville Slugger Texas Player of the Year as a senior. going 14-0 with a 0.77 ERA, 153 K's and four shutouts.
· Named to the 2008 Baseball America High School All-America First Team.
· Posted a 13-0 record with a 0.41 ERA and 142 Ks' in 85 innings to lead Rogers to a 36-2 record and a Class 2A state title as a junior.
· Played in the 2007 AFLAC All-America game and was tabbed a Louisville Slugger All-America in 2008.
· Posted a 10-1 record with a 0.84 ERA and 145 K's in 83.2 innings to earn district MVP, TSWA and THSCA Class 2A All-State honors as a sophomore.
· Posted a 12-2 mark with a 0.90 ERA and 138 K's in 70.1 innings to earn district MVP and THSCA Class 2A All-State as a freshman.
· Drafted in the 24th round of the 2008 MLB First-Year Player Draft by the Los Angeles Angels.
