•A two-year varsity letterwinner and one-year captain as a catcher for Coach Doug Ragsdale at Hays High School in Buda, Texas.
•Named First Team Class 4A All-State by the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association and Second Team Class 4A All-State by the Texas Sports Writers Association as a senior.
•Batted .478 with 14 doubles, four triples, eight home runs and 48 RBI to help lead Hays to a 26-2 record and district and area championships.
•Tabbed Third Team Class 4A All-State by the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association as a junior.
•Hit .442 with 16 doubles, three triples, eight home runs and 42 RBI as a junior.
•Also earned one letter as a running back for Coach Bob Shelton's gridiron squad.
•Played for Coach James Ellison's Austin Wings premier summer team, batting .494 with 13 doubles, four triples, three home runs and 20 RBI in 89 at-bats.
