Longhorn Foundation: Types of Gifts -- Annual Fund

Major Gifts and Planned Giving

The Longhorn Foundation is the principal fundraising arm of UT Men's and Women's Athletics. Funds donated to The Longhorn Foundation assist the operating budget of UT's 20-sport program. Donations made by loyal and generous Texas fans are invested in athletics scholarships and also support general operations which benefit the student-athletes in the following areas: academic counseling, tutoring and mentoring; study and computer centers; sports medicine personnel and facilities; strength and conditioning and nutrition staff and facilities; life skills and special development programs; and career development activities. The Longhorn Foundation and UT Athletics serve more than 700 student-athletes and coaching staff members who serve as their master teachers and mentors.

The Longhorn Foundation uses a point system for annual and cumulative contributions. Contributors receive one point for each dollar contributed. Points are used to determine ticket and seating priorities, parking lot locations and other benefits. The annual donation year begins Dec. 1 and runs through Nov. 30. The ticket priority deadline is March 1. Donors may choose when to donate, based on tax needs and ticketing requirements. Donations to the Annual Fund are typically 80 percent tax-deductible. You are encouraged to contact your tax advisor to determine the deductibility of your gift.

WAYS TO CONTRIBUTE TO THE LONGHORN FOUNDATION ANNUAL FUND
Direct Contributions:
The most common method of giving, these gifts are made in the form of credit card or check made payable to The University of Texas. All donations MUST be made by the donor of record.

Matching Gifts: Many companies have a matching gift program for contributions from their employees. You can automatically increase the value of your donations if your employer participates in this type of program. Most companies will match only the tax-deductible portion of your contribution, so you will be responsible for any remaining balance. Check here to see if your company will match your gift to UT Athletics or contact your employer for more information. In order to receive credit for a matching gift, you must submit your matching form directly to The Longhorn Foundation. If your company does their matching program online, you must forward a copy of your confirmation email to longhornfoundation@athletics.utexas.edu.

Stock Gifts: All stock gifts to the university may be made by contacting Jeni Williams at 512-579-5059.
