AUSTIN, Texas -- The Texas Football team opens the 2012 season on Saturday against Wyoming in a 7 p.m. contest at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium, but you can start preparing a few days early.

Plan to join members of the UT coaching staff as they visit with statewide Longhorn Clubs on Thursday and Friday.

Longhorn Clubs speakers for this week include:

Austin Longhorn Club
Thursday, Aug. 30 at 11:30 a.m.: Texas Football head coach Mack Brown

Dallas Longhorn Club
Friday, Aug. 31 at 7:15 a.m.: Bo Davis/Defensive tackles coach

Houston Longhorn Club
Friday, Aug. 31 at 11:30 a.m.: Bruce Chambers/Recruiting coordinator, tight ends coach

San Antonio Longhorn Club
Friday, Aug. 31 at 11:30 a.m.: Major Applewhite/Co-offensive coordinator, running backs coach

An extension of The Longhorn Foundation, the Longhorn Clubs are intended to bring University of Texas coaches, staff, fans and alumni together in a positive and supportive atmosphere. These statewide clubs offer the opportunity to socialize with fellow Longhorn supporters and hear X’s and O’s directly from UT coaches.
