AS A FRESHMAN (2003)
Played in 94 games and started all 26 matches she played … missed three matches in October after the death of her father … led the team in hitting percentage (.352) and blocks (96) … had 220 kills on the season, the third-highest total on the team … finished second in the Big 12 in hitting percentage and third in conference matches only … recorded two double-figure kill matches, including a high of 16 against Houston (9/26) … had a career-high 8.0 blocks (all block assists) in the team's 3-2 victory over Texas A&M at Gregory Gym (10/1) … had 13 kills and a .600 hitting percentage in the team's 3-1 victory over UT-Arlington (9/11) … had two separate games with no hitting errors: at Baylor (11/15) with seven kills on 11 attacks, and at Texas Tech (11/26) with 12 kills on 18 attacks … collected five or more blocks in five different matches … three times served for three aces in a match: vs. Nicholls State (9/5), vs. Texas Tech (10/18) and at Kansas (10/22) … twice had a season-high six digs: at Oklahoma (9/24) and vs. Houston … earned Time Warner Cable Texas Invitational All-Tournament honors after averaging 11.3 kills per match and connecting for a .538 hitting percentage in the team's three matches.

A 2003 Volleyball Magazine Fab 50 recruit … a 2002 first-team Orange County Register pick … named Capistrano Valley High School athlete of the year … a 2002 second-team All-CIF selection … earned a place on the Orange County all-star team … voted Capistrano Valley team MVP as both a junior and senior … was the South Coast League MVP as a senior while earning all-league honors as a junior and senior … under high school coach Rich Polk, the Cougars won the South Coast League in 2001 and 2002 while reaching the CIF semifinals in 2002 … played club volleyball for the Saddleback Valley Volleyball Club for George Carey, Jr., which placed fourth at the Davis Festival in 2001.

Full name is Brandy Michelle Magee … daughter of Melanie and the late Kevin Magee … has two brothers, Jeremy (22) and Jacob (8) … born on March 3, 1985 in Petach Tikva, Israel … her father played basketball at UC Irvine (1980-82) and in the European Pro Leagues for 12 years (1982-94) … her mother played basketball at the University of South Alabama (1978-80) … started her freshman year wearing No. 4, but changed to No. 44 in honor of her father's memory after his death in October of 2003.
