Texas Volleyball jumps back up to No. 9

AUSTIN, Texas - The Texas Volleyball team improved its national ranking this week after a solid 3-1 victory at Colorado on Wednesday. The Longhorns cracked the inside of the Top 10 for the second time in 2004, moving up to No. 9 in the latest USA Today/CSTV Coaches Top 25 (Presented by the AVCA), released on Monday. Texas had spent the last three weeks ranked 10th.

Texas was ranked No. 9 earlier this season when they shot into the top 10 on Oct. 11. UT started the season unranked but receiving votes in the preseason national poll, then entered the Top 25 at No. 22 in the third weekly poll of the year (Sept. 20), before progressing to No. 18 (Sept. 27), No. 11 (Oct. 4) and then No. 9 the following week.

The No. 9 Longhorns (20-2 overall, 12-2 Big 12) return to action on Thursday, Nov. 11, when they host No. 13 Texas A&M in a State Farm Lone Star Showdown rubber match at Gregory Gym. First serve is set for 6:30 p.m., and CSTV will air the match on a tape-delayed basis on Sunday, Nov. 14 at 5 p.m. Central.
