Texas Volleyball

Hey, everyone! This is Sarah Holloway, a freshman defensive specialist and libero on the Texas Volleyball team. This year, I've inherited the weekly diary from both Whitney Garvens (who wrote it for the volleyball team in 2003) and from my brother Tillman (who wrote a diary for the UT football team last year). This is my last entry for 2004. Thanks for reading!

Holler Back!

Sarah Holloway's Holler Back! Well, our great season has come to an end. It was a very disapointing loss to Stanford last week, but we played with great fight and determination.

Although we didin't reach our ultimate goal of the Final Four so we would have the chance to play for a national championship, we had a great season, nonetheless.

Congratulations to Beth (Howden) and Mira (Topic) for their All-American seasons, as well as remarkable careers. They are going to be greatly missed next season and beyond. Their graduation is bitter-sweet. It's bitter because we are losing two of the greatest players to ever play at UT, but it's sweet because they were big reasons why Texas Volleyball is back among the great programs ... and we have a very bright future.

I want to thank you all for being such a great support to us this season. We could have not gone as far as we did without our fans behind us. I hope that everyone has a very merry Christmas and happy new year.

I am back home in Colorado nowand it is great to have the break, but also crushing to watch Stanford win the national championship and know that we were that close to the same reward. I know that our team will use the experiences we had this year to fuel our seasons to come.

Thank you all again!

As always, Hook 'Em and God Bless.
-Holler

P.S. - Tillman says hello!
