May 31, 2004 Tour Reflections We were all so happy to arrive home to a hot Austin on Sunday evening. As excited as we were when our trip started, I think we were all even more excited to return home to Texas. This trip served as an opportunity for all of us to not only see the world, but also to experience different cultures. Exploring Europe allowed us to really get to know each other better and to have experiences that normally none of us would get to have. Whether it was finding out that our toilets at one gym were holes in the ground or remembering the victims of the Holocaust at the Dachau concentration camp, we experienced it all together as a team. On the volleyball court, our team chemistry grew as we came together to play. Playing in variouis conditions and various styles of gyms, some better than others, helped our team grow as we rose to each occasion and met each adversity with confidence. These lessons learned throughout our trip will be evident next season. Our trip had its ups and downs but through it all our team found a way to win. Its now great to be back home and we are all so excited to start summer school because it means we are that much closer to the start of the 2004 season! For the mean time, it is great to understand all the items on a menu and to be able to order queso. Ciao, and I will see y'all in August! Hook em! |
