Scott Sellers of Cinco Ranch, the top prep high jumper in the country, bettered his meet and stadium record with a winning height of 7-5. His previous record was 7-4 established last year. Sellers claimed his third consecutive Texas Relays title.

In the long jump Longhorn Marshevet Hooker came close to breaking the Texas school record as she won the event with a mark of 21-10. She set a meet and stadium record, but was 1/4 of an inch off UT's best.

Hooker's younger sister, Destinee, won the high school high jump with a height of 6-0 to equal the meet record. Destinee is a junior at San Antonio Southwest and has committed to Texas.

Texas Tech achieved a unique double when they won both the men's and women's sprint medley, the first time it has been accomplished at the Texas Relays since they've run 200, 200, 400, 800 distances starting in 1993.

The Red Raider men posted a 3:13.06 victory ahead of Auburn's 3:13.50. It was the fourth straight year for the Red Raiders to claim the University title with Jonathan Johnson anchoring each time. Johnson clocked a 1:46.4 anchor after Andrae Williams split 45.3 on the 400 leg.

Arkansas closed out Thursday's performance with its sixth consecutive title in the 4 x 1500. Texas challenged late, but still trailed by a decent margin, 15:24.42 to 15:26.37. The Razorbacks, who enjoyed a seven-year winning streak from 1982 to 1988, have won this event 18 times at the Texas Relays.
