AUSTIN, Texas -- Jake Sullivan made Texas nervous for a while, but the Longhorns made sure they would emerge victorious in their Big 12 Conference opener.

T.J. Ford and Brian Boddicker led a balanced scoring attack with 11 points apiece as No. 7 Texas went on a late run to defeat Iowa State, 70-50, and earn coach Rick Barnes his 100th victory as the team's coach.

Sullivan, who scored 23 points, rallied the Cyclones from a 13-point halftime deficit, pulling them within 48-44 on a 3-pointer with 10:19 remaining. But Ford countered with a jumper and Sydmill Harris a 3-pointer to commence a 22-6 game-closing run.

Harris, Brandon Mouton, Royal Ivey and Jason Klotz added 10 points apiece for the Longhorns (10-2, 1-0 Big 12), who improved to 7-0 at the Frank Erwin Center this season.

The Cyclones (10-3, 0-2), who were routed at home by Kansas on Monday, 83-54, shot just 36 percent (20-of-56). No other player besides Sullivan reached double figures.
