- 24-time All-American
- Won the NCAA individual championship in the 100-yard backstroke in 1997 and '98. His time of 44.92 in the backstroke set in '97 still stands as the oldest UT and Big 12 swimming record.
- Helped the Longhorns win the 1996 NCAA Championship
- Earned spots on the 2000 and 2004 Olympic teams. Medaled four times (two golds, one silver and one bronze) in Sydney and Athens.
