• Began working with Texas Football in 1986, and that spring became orthopedic surgeon for all UT male student-athletes
• A graduate of Texas Tech and Baylor School of Medicine, Windler also studied at the University of Pennsylvania and did a fellowship with Olympic track and field athletes at the University of Oregon in Eugene.
• Began practicing in Austin in 1977, and in 1998 he and his partners opened Austin Sports Medicine specializing in comprehensive care for active lifestyle and sports-related injuries.
