AUSTIN, Texas -- University Federal Credit Union was named the recipient of seven statewide marketing awards in the Texas Credit Union League Lone Star Marketing Awards Competition. Lone Star Awards recognize and honor excellence in marketing, public relations and business development success. The awards were presented at a ceremony on Oct. 21, 2008 at the Omni Hotel in Austin.
Winning first place in the Public Relations & Community Involvement category was UFCU's multi-level marketing promotion for the new UFCU Disch-Falk Field Rededication Weekend event. Sheila Wojcik, vice president of membership for UFCU, said "We are very proud of the association and involvement we have with The University of Texas and UT Athletics. The UFCU Disch-Falk Field rededication event was a top marketing priority for us this year. It is rewarding to have a statewide organization recognize the success of this rededication initiative with a Lone Star Award."
The rededication campaign included a variety of media including UFCU member contests, fan giveaways, direct mail, Disch Dirt taken from the field the previous year, stadium replicas, stadium logo design and public relations.
UFCU was also presented Lone Star Awards for their print advertising, newsletter, logo design, annual report and radio/TV including Best of Show for a recently produced television spot.
