The Oct. 29 football game between the Texas Longhorns and Kansas Jayhawks will be the second UT football game televised on Longhorn Network and the first Big 12 intra-conference game to air on LHN.

This game is approved by Commissioner Dan Beebe based upon the approval process that the Big 12 Board of Directors determined last month. ABC maintains first selection for the Big 12 games on Oct. 29. This ensures that all Big 12 games that day are distributed by national carriers.

LHN is also set to exclusively air UT's football season opener against Rice on Saturday, Sept. 3 at 7 p.m. The network provides in-depth, surrounding coverage leading into both the Rice and Kansas matchups.

LHN is the exclusive national distributor for the UT-KU game, except in the state of Kansas where the game will also air on select over-the-air stations to be determined at a later date.

The Longhorns and Jayhawks have met just 10 times since 1901. UT leads the series 8-2 heading into this season.

As of Sept. 1, Longhorn Network is available nationwide on Verizon FiOS TV and within Texas on Grande Communications, Consolidated Communications, En-Touch Systems, E-Tex Communications, Bay City Cablevision, Mid-Coast Cablevision and Texas Mid-Gulf Cablevision. Longhorn Network will be available online at LonghornNetwork.com, on tablets and on smartphones to fans with an affiliated video subscription in the near future.
