Call your cable provider now to receive Longhorn Network

Sept. 1, 2011

Texas Longhorns fans are urged to call their cable/satellite provider now to request Longhorn Network.

UT Athletics has received hundreds of inquiries about the network. ESPN's negotiations are ongoing with all cable, satellite and broadband service providers.

"We understand our fans' sentiments, and they all are important," said Chris Plonsky, UT women's athletics director, and director of men's/women's athletics external services. "LHN is a new world for us but this will not be successful without time, negotiation and patience.

"ESPN has made a tremendous commitment to UT and they have been working hard to bring LHN to viewers in Texas and beyond. But they need our support and right now that means calling your provider and asking them to carry LHN. As customers your voice matters. And stay tuned for some really exciting new programming to be announced in the coming days."

LHN is available on the following carriers: Grande Communications, Verizon FiOS TV, Consolidated Communications, Bay City Cablevision, Mid-Coast Cablevision, and Texas Mid-Gulf Cablevision, En-Touch Systems and E-Tex Communications subscribers.
