Longhorn Network to exclusively televise two Football games in 2011
July 5, 2011
Texas fans get double the football action as two games air exclusively on Longhorn Network in 2011. First up is Rice vs. Texas televised live in high definition from Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium Saturday, Sept. 3 at 6 p.m. Central (with a re-air at 11 p.m.). The second game is a Big 12 intra-conference contest to be determined later in the season. The new 24/7 University of Texas network launches just eight days prior on Friday, Aug. 26, and provides week-long, comprehensive coverage leading into the Longhorns' season opener. Stephanie Druley, Longhorn Network vice president, production, said, "We are thrilled to be able to bring not one but two games to Longhorns fans this year. The Texas-Rice game is an exciting first for the network and demonstrates how we will provide the most comprehensive coverage of Texas football that fans have ever experienced." Beginning Thursday, Sept. 1 at 6:30 p.m., Game Plan with Mack Brown looks at what Texas must do to earn the win against Rice. Prior to Saturday's kick-off, the two-hour Texas GameDay at 4 p.m. - the only pregame show exclusively from inside the stadium - gives fans all the insights, analysis and excitement they've come to know from ESPN's College GameDay pregame show. Then, Longhorns fans see the debut of Texas GameDay Final - a two-hour dedicated postgame show televised immediately after the game exclusively from the field. Monday at 7 p.m., Rewind with Mack Brown breaks down all the plays and action from the team's first contest. Finally on Tuesday at 8 p.m., Texas Football Overdrive presents the Rice vs. Texas game in an enhanced format featuring interviews, sound and analysis that brings viewers an inside look at the game.
