Longhorn Network to televise Texas Football spring game

March 28, 2012

Longhorn Network kicks off exclusive coverage of the 2012 Texas Football Spring Jamboree on Sunday, April 1 with a special telecast of Texas GameDay.

Beginning at 1 p.m. Central, Texas GameDay is live from Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium featuring commentary and analysis from LHN's Samantha Steele and former UT football great Priest Holmes.

During pregame activities, UT unveils a statue honoring 1998 Heisman Trophy winner Ricky Williams. The oversized statue is located in the southwest corner of the stadium, near the statue of UT Hall of Famer Earl Campbell. LHN's Texas GameDay will air the ceremony. ESPN's Brent Musburger emcees the presentation.

LHN's Lowell Galindo provides play-by-play commentary during the game beginning at 2 p.m., while ESPN's Danny Kanell serves as analyst. Kanell is a part of ESPNU's Saturday afternoon college football programming, and is in the studio on College Football Live and ESPNU's The Experts. He previously played in the NFL for the New York Giants, Atlanta Falcons and Denver Broncos.

A one-hour Texas GameDay Final with Steele, Holmes and Galindo will be live immediately following the game.

LHN's telecast of the annual Orange-White scrimmage marks the end of the spring practice schedule for the Longhorns. LHN aired 12 practices during February and March and provided in-depth analysis and coverage of UT practice sessions, along with commentary from the UT coaching staff.
