Enjoy the UT Athletics experience during 'Explore UT'
March 2, 2010
This Saturday, March 6, our campus will host its 11th annual Explore UT: The Biggest Open House in Texas. People of all ages will come to campus from across the state, and almost 400 school buses -- carrying teachers, parents and students -- are expected to converge on the Forty Acres. As part of the day's events, UT Athletics invites everyone to explore the Red McCombs Red Zone, located in the north end of Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium. Upon entering the food court area, visitors will encounter Earl Campbell, Kevin Durant, Ricky Williams, Cat Osterman, Huston Street and Vince Young -- or, actually, their life-size renderings. Fans can stop and take photos with those poster cutouts, as well as Big Bertha, or just take advantage of restrooms and food and beverage options. Longhorns Ltd., the official Team Store of Texas Athletics, will be open in the Red McCombs Red Zone as well. The UT Athletics experience is just one part of more than 400 events and activities happening all across campus. Explore UT is a day of performance, exhibits, lectures and hands-on activities for the entire family. UT Athletics and Explore UT -- Saturday, March 6 1 p.m.: UT Women's Athletics Director Chris Plonsky will speak and take questions from visitors about the important connection between intercollegiate athletics and higher education. |
