Conradt named legend in her community for Neighborhood Longhorns service
Jan. 20, 2012
Jody Conradt, the former University of Texas women's basketball coach and Naismith Hall of Famer, has been named a RecognizeGood® Legend in her community. Conradt was recognized for long-standing commitment and service with UT's Neighborhood Longhorns Program. "Say Thanks" Austin is an annual campaign celebrating the unsung heroes of Austin, Texas, and calling attention to the past year's RecognizeGood® Legends. The legend with the most Internet votes by Feb. 3 will earn $10,000 for the chosen charity. The second-place vote-getter receives $2,500 and third place is awarded $1,000. Conradt helped found the Neighborhood Longhorns Program (NLP) in 1991. NLP is non-profit, incentive-based learning program which provides economically disadvantaged youth with the resources to build a strong academic future. Currently housed in UT's Division of Diversity and Community Engagement, NLP is the official community service arm of UT Athletics.
