REQUESTS FOR DONATIONS OF AUTOGRAPHED ITEMS
Items which have been pre-purchased may not be left for autographing or signature within UT Athletics. Requests can no longer be accepted by the Longhorn Foundation, UT Athletics administration, UT Athletics Ticket Office, or individual coaches' offices. All memorabilia items and autographed items -- including those for non-profit/charitable purposes -- should be procured by contacting Longhorns, Ltd., at donations@cmssports.com. Please reference your charity/auction and date of event. A limited number of team balls will be available at LonghornsLtd.com. LonghornsLtd.com features items autographed by coaches, former coaches and former student-athletes. All items are subject to availability.

WHY IS UT ATHLETICS MOVING TO THIS PROCEDURE?
· NCAA compliance issues and time savings: The exclusivity of autographed items is protected when the items are offered at retail. Longhorns, Ltd., offers items only as long as the supply lasts. Coach-signed items are now supplied directly to Longhorns, Ltd., in a supply number based upon the number of requests fulfilled in previous years. Longhorns, Ltd., permits non-profit organizations and charities to return to the stores items that fail to be auctioned at prescribed rates. This eliminates all risk for the charities and non-profits and the individuals who procure the items at retail.

· Paperwork overload: Items acquired at retail require no tracking of use. This allows time-savings for customers since individuals no longer have to pre-purchase an item, complete a UT Athletics Compliance form describing intended use of the item, drive or mail/ship the item to campus, then return to campus to pick up the item. Our patrons have complained about having a difficult time completing all of these processes in a timely manner.

· NCAA rules: Student-athlete autographed items far too often have ended up on outside auction sites. This causes time-consuming issues for UT Athletics compliance officers. No longer may student-athletes sign autographs unless this occurs at formal fan appreciation days and team autograph days. Items signed by student-athletes may only be personalized items (signed specifically to the name of the person requesting).

· Forgeries: UT Athletics and Longhorns, Ltd., retail outlets are taking the lead in protecting Longhorns fans from becoming victims of fraudulent memorabilia sales. Customers are guaranteed that all items purchased through Longhorns, Ltd., outlets are provided directly from UT Athletics at fair market prices. Nearly all auctions and charities are trying to raise money legitimately and for good causes. However, UT Athletics is obligated to protect the names and images of Longhorns coaches and student-athletes.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation! Hook 'em, Horns!
