Texas Longhorns Sports Camps: Track & Field
2013 CAMP DATES AND LOCATION
The University of Texas Track & Field Camp provides technical instruction and video analysis of track and field from coaches and current UT student-athletes from both the men's and women's track and field programs. This camp is designed for athletes who wish to develop their skills in all areas of the track and field arena.
Per NCAA rules, all sport camps and clinics conducted by The University of Texas at Austin are open to any and all entrants and enrollment is only limited based on age, grade level, gender, or number restrictions as specified by each camp.
Distance Group: Current and former Longhorn athletes will work alongside campers in developing race strategies for the distance events. Discussions will also take place covering the appropriate mileage for your event. Two sessions will be set up daily, one being a track workout and the other being a road run utilizing the same routes as the Texas Cross-Country Team.
Throws Group: Throwers will cover all of the same basic drills as current UT athletes and will receive feedback through video analysis and the latest techniques utilized in the throwing events. Also covered will be properly implementing the complete training program including weight training, throwing volume, and overall general conditioning.
Jumps Group: Athletes in the jumps group have the opportunity to break down the specifics of each event through drills and video feedback. Athletes will also receive feedback on their full approach jumps since we will be implementing two sessions a day. Pole Vaulters are encouraged to bring their own poles to better accommodate their size and weight.
