PURPOSE
The John Fields Longhorn Jr. Golf Camp is designed to meet the needs of junior golfers of all abilities. Campers receive basic and advanced instruction that is required to excel at any level.

THE LONGHORN GOLF CAMP STAFF
Head coach John Fields has put together a staff that promotes success at all levels -- high school coaches, collegiate coaches, collegiate players, a sports psychologist, a strength and conditioning expert. and a full-time athletic trainer. All coaches and counselors are experienced in working with young players and provide campers with outstanding instruction in a serious but fun learning environment.

WHO CAN ATTEND
Boys, ages 10-18

Per NCAA rules, all sport camps and clinics conducted by The University of Texas at Austin are open to any and all entrants and enrollment is only limited based on age, grade level, gender, or number restrictions as specified by each camp.

INSTRUCTION
Instruction focuses on improving the student's swing, short game, bunker play, chipping, putting, and course management, as well as the mental and physical aspects of the game. Campers are grouped by age and skill level with a camper-to-coach ratio of 5:1. All instruction takes place at The University of Texas Golf Club.

COMPETITION DAY
Campers show their skills while participating in a team setting. Parents are welcome to come early and watch. Play begins at approximately 8:30 a.m. and camp concludes after the awards ceremony immediately following play.

CAMP COST
Resident Camper cost is $1,100 per week; Day Camper cost is $900 per week. Camp cost includes all instruction, green fees, V-1 lesson and analysis, special activities, room and board at a college dormitory facility.

SUPERVISION
Campers are supervised at all times. Instructors as well as counselors and an athletic trainer stay in the dormitory with campers.

EVENING ACTIVITIES
Special activities are planned which may include lazer tag and golf-related/team activities.

HOUSING & FOOD
Resident campers reside in a dormitory setting, a privately-owned resident hall located across the street from The University of Texas. Boys are assigned two to a room according to age or individual roommate requests. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are provided for all overnight campers and day campers receive lunch and dinner. The residence center features a swimming pool, fitness center and game room.

DEPOSIT
A $250 non-refundable deposit (which is applied to camp fee) must accompany each application. Upon receipt of the application and deposit, a confirmation packet and all necessary forms and information are sent directly via email.

REGISTRATION
Registration is from 1-3 p.m. The remaining balance and all necessary forms are due at this time.

PARKING
Parking is free for parents to drop off campers. Keep in mind that the regular entrance to the parking garage is a clearance of 6-2. There is a golf bag drop-off. The golf bags are loaded and transported to the golf course. It won't be necessary to keep golf clubs in the rooms.

TRANSPORTATION
Transportation is provided to and from Austin Bergstrom International Airport. Campers are met by a counselor at the baggage claim area upon arrival. All resident campers are provided with necessary transportation.

FIRST AID
An athletic trainer is on duty to administer to all minor injuries and sickness, as well as monitor levels of hydration. For serious problems, the UT Health Center is available.

WHAT TO BRING
Proper golf attire (no denim on the golf course), golf clubs, golf balls, golf hat, sun block, swim suit, toiletries, sheets and pillows (or sleeping bag), towels, and some spending money ($20-$25). NO linen packets are available for rent.
