Academic and Student Services: Career Development
The Longhorn PRIDE Program (Personal Responsibility in Developing Excellence) guides student-athletes in developing life skills, performing community service and pursuing career and life goals. All of the hard work of our student-athletes and student services staff has recently been lauded, as the Longhorn PRIDE Program was named the best Life Skills Program in the nation. Commitment to Career Development: To encourage the student-athlete to pursue career and life goals. The Longhorn PRIDE Program was created to enhance the student-athlete's experience in all facets of his or her university life. And, realizing that at The University of Texas, "What starts here, changes the world," we take special care to prepare them for life after they have exhausted their athletic pursuits. For instance, our annual Career Day is attended by companies from across the nation, including the Coca Cola Bottling Company, IMG Financial Group, Dell, University Federal Credit Union, GSD&M Idea City, the Walt Disney World Company, among others.
